MJP:djv 02/28/89 (013/07) "Section 17.2. Definition of Business. For the purposes of this chapter, "business" means any person, firm, association, partnership, business trust, corporation, company, or other organization which lawfully provides or makes available goods or services to members of the public, including entities organized for profit, non-profit or charitable entities, or governmental entities." SECTION 3. Section 17.3 of the Code of the City of Redwood City is hereby added to read as follows: "Section 17.3. Exceptions. Section 17.3 shall not apply in any of the following instances: (1) When its application would interfere with or prevent peaceful labor picketing or other lawful labor activity; (2 ) When its application would interfere with or prevent the lawful exercise of rights protected by the federal or state constitutions; (3 ) When its application would result in a violation of the Unruh Civil Rights Act or any other law which prohibits unlawful discrimination; (4 ) When its application would result in a violation of the provisions of Penal Code Section 365." SECTION 4. Section 17.4 is hereby added to the Code of the City of Redwood City to read as follows: "Section 17.4. Penalties. The penalties for violation of Section 17.1 shall be as set forth in Section 1.7 (b) of the Code of the City of Redwood City." 2 1992 -- - -.........".
