<br /> MJP:djv 02/28/89 (013/07) <br /> "Section 17.2. Definition of Business. For the <br />purposes of this chapter, "business" means any person, firm, <br />association, partnership, business trust, corporation, <br />company, or other organization which lawfully provides or <br />makes available goods or services to members of the public, <br />including entities organized for profit, non-profit or <br />charitable entities, or governmental entities." <br />SECTION 3. Section 17.3 of the Code of the City of Redwood <br />City is hereby added to read as follows: <br /> "Section 17.3. Exceptions. Section 17.3 shall not <br />apply in any of the following instances: <br /> (1) When its application would interfere with or <br />prevent peaceful labor picketing or other lawful labor <br />activity; <br /> (2 ) When its application would interfere with or <br />prevent the lawful exercise of rights protected by the <br />federal or state constitutions; <br /> (3 ) When its application would result in a violation <br />of the Unruh Civil Rights Act or any other law which <br />prohibits unlawful discrimination; <br /> (4 ) When its application would result in a violation <br />of the provisions of Penal Code Section 365." <br />SECTION 4. Section 17.4 is hereby added to the Code of the <br />City of Redwood City to read as follows: <br /> "Section 17.4. Penalties. The penalties for violation <br />of Section 17.1 shall be as set forth in Section 1.7 (b) of <br />the Code of the City of Redwood City." <br /> 2 <br /> 1992 <br />-- - -.........". <br />
