1998 OĆ)ā!GP\!AI ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTIONS 29.15 AND 29.20 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY RELATING TO DEFINITIONS PERTAINING TO REGULATIONS GOVERNING CONSTRUCTION OF SIDEWALKS AND DRIVEWAYS, AND STANDARDS FOR RESIDENTIAL DRIVEWAYS, RESPECTIVELY THE COUNCIL OF REDWOOD CITY DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. Section 29.15 of the Redwood City Code is hereby amended to read as follows: "Section 29.15. Definitions. <br /> DES:mma OS/25/88 (025/7) <br /> "Section 29.20. Residential Driveway Approaches. <br />(a) The locations and dimensions of driveway approaches to <br />all real property situate in any residentially zoned <br />district shall conform to the following: <br /> " (1) No driveway approach to off-street parking spaces <br /> required by the Zoning Ordinance shall be <br /> constructed which does not serve a garage or <br /> carport located to the rear boundary (building <br /> set-back line) of the front yard required by the <br /> Zoning Ordinance; <br /> " (2) The width measured between the tops of the ramps <br /> at the on-site terminus of the driveway <br /> approaches serving the hereinafter specified <br /> garage, carport or parking space facilities shall <br /> not exceed the dimensions respectively specified <br /> therefor: <br /> (i) Single garage, carport or parking space - 12 <br /> feet; <br /> (ii) Two motor-vehicle garage, carport or parking <br /> space - 23 feet; <br /> (iii) Three or more motor-vehicle garage, carport <br /> or parking space - 30 feet. <br /> " (3) The total width of all driveway approaches serving <br /> any parcel shall not exceed sixty percent of the <br /> street frontage of the parcel. <br /> " (4) The separation between the driveway approaches <br /> serving the same parcel of property shall be not <br /> less than 22 feet or a multiple thereof. <br /> " (b) Notwithstanding the provisions of subdivision (a) <br /> hereof, the City Engineer may approve exceptions <br /> thereto upon finding that: <br /> (i) The use of the parcel of property to which <br /> the driveway approach provides access shall <br /> be benefited by granting the exception, <br /> ( ii) Granting the exception will not be <br /> detrimental to the health, safety, peace, <br /> comfort or general welfare of persons <br /> residing on property adjacent to, or in <br /> the vicinity of, the property to be so <br /> served, and <br /> 2 1998 <br />-.,- - _._.~,,_., ,_.._,~. ·".,w,·~ <br />
