ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTIONS 9.2, 9.40, 9.60, 9.70, 9.80, AND 9.110, AND ADDING DIVISION 4 TO ARTICLE IX OF CHAPTER 9 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY RELATING TO THE AVAILABILITY OF CODES ADOPTED BY REFERENCE, ADOPTING BY REFERENCE THE UNIFORM BUILDING CODE, 1988 EDITION, THE UNIFORM BUILDING CODE STANDARDS, 1988 EDITION, THE UNIFORM BUILDING SECURITY CODE, 1988 EDITION, THE UNIFORM HOUSING CODE, 1988 EDITION, THE UNIFORM MECHANICAL CODE, 1988 EDITION, THE UNIFORM PLUMBING CODE, 1988 EDITION, AND THE NATIONAL ELECTRICAL CODE, 1987 EDITION, AND ESTABLISHING A SEISMIC HAZARD IDENTIFICATION PROGRAM, RESPECTIVELY THE COUNCIL OF REDWOOD CITY DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. <br /> - DES:d-ik 11/07/89 (029/7) <br /> municipal government disaster operation and <br /> communication centers; <br /> 'High Risk Building' means any building not classified <br /> as an essential building, having an occupant load of <br /> one hundred (100) persons or more; <br /> 'Medium Risk Building' means any building not <br /> classified as an essential building, having an occupant <br /> load of twenty (20 ) persons or more; and <br /> 'Low Risk Building' means any building not classified <br /> as an essential building, having an occupant load of <br /> less than twenty (20) persons. <br /> "Technical words or phrases or other terms not herein <br />expressly defined shall have the definitions respectively <br />ascribed thereto in the Uniform Building Code. <br /> "Section 9.142. Engineering Reports. Owners of <br />unreinforced masonry buildings in the City, except as <br />exempted below, shall submit an engineering report complying <br />with the provisions of Section 9.145 to the Building <br />Official in order to determine the existence, nature, extent <br />and severity of structural deficiencies of said buildings <br />with respect to the capacity thereof to withstand the <br />effects of earthquakes.
