Our
staff is reviewing draft ordinances from the Legal Aid society, and the City of Los Angeles. It is unfortunate
that the State legislation wasn't written in such a way as to prevent rent gauging and evictions prior to the new
law taking effect on January 1, however the City is working on a response to this.
Respectfully,
Ian Bain
IMM?
Mayor
City of Redwood City
Phone: (650) 780-7565
E-mail:
www redwoodcity.ore
On Sat, Oct 19, 2019 at 6:15 PM Adriana Guzman <adrianagfaithinactionba.org> wrote:
Dear Mayor, Vice -mayor and city council members,
I'm sending some of the stories of Evictions and high Rent increases that The neighbors Union with Faith in
Action has found, as we have been doing door knocking in Redwood City neighborhoods. These residents will
be at your next City council meeting with others to share with you their experiences in person. This is
happening now and we need you all to pass an emergency ordinance to keep our families home, especially now
that it's the holidays. Thank you for all your time and attention.
