Governor Newsom. I know you are aware of the nearly epidemic lack of affordable housing, regularly <br />occurring economic evictions and nearly non-existent renter protections that exemplify our current <br />situation. Some of you very recently in the last election talked about this issue as your concern for this <br />community. Now is your chance to put your money where your mouth is. <br />I am blessed to be a homeowner and have lived in Redwood City for nearly 20 years and I see my community <br />being seriously and negatively impacted by greedy landlords, greedy developers, with no end in sight. SB <br />1482 is but a start, and there is already evidence of landlords doing what they can now to get around its <br />protections set to begin January 1, 2021.
