<br />11/26/2007 <br /> <br />the measures voted upon at the election are as follows: Measure "D" - Shall <br />specified sections of the City Charter be amended to supplant, the existing <br />telephone and video users' tax with a modern communications users' tax, and <br />reduce and rate of the tax from 5% to 4%; and Measure "E" - Shall specified <br />sections of the City Charter be amended to extend the term of office of City <br />Planning and Library board members from three (3) years to four (4) years and <br />reduce the term of office of City Port board members from five (5) years to four. <br /> <br />SECTION 2. That the number of votes given in the City to each of the <br />persons above named for the respective offices for which the persons were <br />candidates and for and against the measures were as listed in the attached <br />Exhibit "A." <br /> <br />SECTION 3. The City Council does declare and determine that, subject to <br />any significant or substantial factual or numerical deviations adversely affecting <br />the general election results shown on Exhibit A, the following candidates were <br />elected for the full term of four years by the following vote: <br /> <br />Barbara Pierce <br />Rosanne Foust <br />Alicia Aguirre <br />Ian Bain <br /> <br />5,273 <br />4,757 <br />4,520 <br />4,399 <br /> <br />SECTION 4. The City Council of the City of Redwood City submitted to <br />the qualified voters of the City at the Election, Measures "D," and "E." <br /> <br />Measure D: "Shall specified sections of the City Charter be <br />amended to supplant the existing telephone and video users' tax with a modern <br />communications users' tax, and reduce the rate of the tax from 5% to 4%?" <br /> <br />Measure E: "Shall specified sections of the City Charter be <br />amended to amend the City Charter to extend the term of office of City Planning <br />and Library board members from three (3) years to four years and reduce the <br />term of office of City Port board members from five (5) to four?" <br /> <br />SECTION 5.
