10/28/2019 <br />RESOLUTION NO. 15799 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD <br />CITY AUTHORIZING THE INSTALLATION OF STOP SIGNS ON <br />ARLINGTON ROAD AT ITS INTERSECTION WITH WARWICK STREET <br />WHEREAS, the California Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (Manual) <br />has been adopted by the California Department of Transportation and by the City of <br />Redwood City to provide uniform standards for all traffic control devices; and <br />WHEREAS, Section 2B.07 of the Manual states that the use of multi -way stop <br />signs should be based on an engineering study. One of the criteria which may be <br />considered in the study includes locations where a road user, after stopping, cannot see <br />conflicting traffic and is not able to negotiate the intersection unless conflicting cross <br />traffic is also required to stop; and <br />WHEREAS, City staff's investigation, as described in the staff report, has <br />confirmed the existence of this condition at the subject site. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />REDWOOD CITY, AS FOLLOWS: <br />1. Pursuant to Redwood City Municipal Code Section 20.34, the City Manager <br />is hereby authorized and directed to cause stop signs to be installed and <br />maintained on Arlington Road at the intersection with Warwick Street. <br />2.
