<br />12/10/2007 <br /> <br />ORIGINAL <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 14826 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />REDWOOD CITY, CALIFORNIA, ENDORSING THE GUIDING <br />PRINCIPLES OF THE GRAND BOULEVARD INITIATIVE AND <br />DIRECTING STAFF TO INCORPORATE THEM INTO FUTURE <br />PLANS OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY INVOLVING EL <br />CAMINO REAL <br /> <br />WHEREAS, after one year of research and debate the Grand Boulevard <br /> <br />Task Force has approved ten Guiding Principles and recommended their <br /> <br />adoption by member agencies; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Guiding Principles were formulated as a result of examining <br /> <br />the common themes and goals from City and County plans for EI Camino Real; <br /> <br />and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Guiding Principles will further the Grand Boulevard Vision <br /> <br />statement, that "EI Camino Real will achieve its full potential as a place for <br /> <br />residents to work, live, shop and play, creating links between communities that <br /> <br />promote walking and transit and an improved and meaningful quality of life"; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Guiding Principles will be an integral part of shaping an <br /> <br />improved future for EI Camino Real in our community, meeting our goals of <br /> <br />enhancing neighborhoods and supporting local business. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF <br />THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY AS FOLLOWS: <br />1. That the City Council of the City of Redwood City endorses the <br /> <br />Grand Boulevard Guiding Principles as approved and recommended by the <br /> <br />Grand Boulevard Task Force and intends to incorporate these Guiding Principles <br /> <br />into plans to be developed that involve EI Camino Real in this community. <br /> <br />2.
