<br />12/10/2007 <br /> <br />ORIGINAL <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 14823 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD <br />CITY, RECITING THE FACTS OF THE CONSOLIDATED <br />GENERAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION HELD ON NOVEMBER 6, <br />2007 DECLARING THE RESULTS AND SUCH OTHER <br />MATTERS AS PROVIDED BY LAW <br /> <br />WHEREAS, a Consolidated General Municipal Election was held and <br />conducted in the City of Redwood City, California, on Tuesday, November 6, <br />2007; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution No. 14822, adopted November 26, <br />2007, the City Council declared the results of the Consolidated General Election <br />subject to any substantial or significant factual or numerical deviation adversely <br />affecting the election results; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution No. 14792, adopted June 25, 2007, <br />the County Election Department canvassed the returns of the election and has <br />certified results to this City Council, the results are received, attached and made <br />a part hereof as Exhibit "A"; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, nothing has come to the attention of the City of Redwood City <br />that any substantial or significant factual or numerical deviation adversely <br />affecting the election result has occurred. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD <br />CITY, CALIFORNIA, DOES RESOLVE, DECLARE, DETERMINE AND ORDER <br />AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />SECTION 1. That the whole number of ballots cast in the City was <br />19,008. <br /> <br />SECTION 2. That the names of persons voted for at the general election <br />for Member of the City Council are as follows: Barbara Pierce, Rosanne Foust, <br />Alicia Aguirre, Ian Bain, Kevin Bondonno, and Joneen Elisabeth Nielsen. That <br />the measures voted upon at the election are as follows: Measure "0" - Shall <br />specified sections of the City Charter be amended to supplant, the existing <br />telephone and video users' tax with a modern communications users' tax, and <br />reduce and rate of the tax from 5% to 4%; and Measure "E" - Shall specified <br />sections of the City Charter be amended to extend the term of office of City <br />Planning and Library board members from three (3) years to four (4) years and <br />reduce the term of office of City Port board members from five (5) years to four. <br /> <br />Atty/Reso.1770 <br />120307 <br /> <br />14823 <br />Muff # 307 <br />
