10. CALL TO ORDER BY THE NEWLY SELECTED MAYOR <br />A. Nominations and selection of Vice Mayor for a two -year term, conducted by the <br />Mayor; <br />Mayor Foust opened nominations for Vice Mayor. He further explained the <br />reasons for the nomination. Council Member Ira nominated Council Member <br />Howard for Vice Mayor. <br />M/S Pierce /Bain to vote Council Member Howard as Vice Mayor. Council <br />Member Howard was voted by unanimous roll call vote to serve as Vice <br />Mayor until November 2009. MINUTE ORDER 07 -208 <br />B. Comments by Council Members, newly selected Vice Mayor, and Mayor; <br />Mayor Foust read a proclamation in honor of outgoing Mayor Barbara Pierce. She <br />further presented a photograph collage box exhibiting the various roles of Barbara <br />Pierce. The Mayor gavel was presented on a plaque and a piece of jewelry from <br />the Council was given to Council Member Pierce. <br />Council Member Pierce thanked Council, family, staff, and community members <br />for the honor and support. <br />All newly elected Council Members and Mayor Foust made their comments upon <br />their recent re- election. Mayor Foust stated her pride in serving as the next Mayor <br />and thanked everyone. <br />11. ADJOURNMENT — 8:20 p.m. <br />M/S Howard /Hartnett to adjourn to a reception in honor of newly reelected Council <br />Members and newly selected Mayor and Vice Mayor until the next Council meeting of <br />December 10, 2007.
