7A Page 15 WHEREAS, the changes and additions fio the Code, which are proposed to be made clarify the Codes and in certain instances, impose more stringent protection requirements than are required by the Codes and include: (1} improved bracing; (2) special structura! provisions for Younger Bay Mud area; {3) prohibition on metailic piping and electrical conduit in certain areas; and (4) more �re resistive roafing; WHEREAS, Section 17958.7 of the California Health and Safety Code requires insofar as such changes and additions refate fo apar�ment houses, hotels, motels and dwellings, and buildings and structures accessory thereto, that the governing body of a city, before making any changes and additians, shall make an express finding that such changes and additions are reasonably necessary. NOW, THEREFORE, BE 1T RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD C1Tl(, AS FOLLOWS: 1. In connection with the adoption of that certain ordinance entitled, "�rdinance Repealing Articles IV, V, VI, VII, and VIII of Chapter 9 of the Code af the City of Redwood City; Amending Articles II, III, and IX; and Adding Articles IV, Vf, Vil, and VIEI of Chapter 9 to the Code of the City of Redwood City Relating to the Establishment of Regulations and Standards for Buildings and Structures in the City of Redwood City and Adopting by Ref�rence the Following Godes: `The International Building Code, 2006 Editian,' `The International Properiy Maintenance Code, 2a06 Edition'; 'The Uniform Mechanica!
