Mana .. er <br />.. .. <br /> <br />January 7,2008 <br /> <br />SUBJECT <br />FinarAcceptance - Marine Parkway Overlay Project <br /> <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />Accept, by motion, the Marine Parkway Overlay Project and authorize the release of <br />bonds and retention according to City procedures. <br /> <br />BACKGROUND <br />On July 9, 2007, the City Council awarded the construction contract for the Marine <br />Parkway Overlay Project to O'Grady Paving Inc. of Mountain View, California for their <br />lowest responsive bid of $503,369.84. The project has been successfully completed in <br />accordance with the plans and specifications. Change orders totaling $11,401.51 (2.3% <br />of the contract value) were issued. The final contract cost is $514,771.35. Change <br />orders resulted from final quantity adjustments, increased pavement thickness in some <br />areas due to soil conditions, and additional pavement striping. <br /> <br />The Marine Parkway Overlay Project made repairs and replaced a segment of the <br />Marine Parkway roadway surface (between Island Drive and Shell Parkway) with a <br />rubberized concrete overlay. <br /> <br />ALTERNATIVES <br />Council may choose not to accept the project which would be contrary to prior Council <br />action. <br /> <br />FISCAL IMPACT <br />Sufficient funds have been appropriated from the Capital Improvement Program, Gas <br />Tax Construction Fund. <br /> <br /> <br />ced=l!~ <br /> <br />P ter Vorametsanti, P.E., <br />Supervising Civil Engineer <br />Engineering & Construction <br /> <br /> <br />~ f~fYl <br /> <br />ATTACHMENTS <br />None <br /> <br />RELATED DOCUMENTS IN CITY CLERK'S OFFICE <br />None <br />
