in the ordinance entitled, "Ordinance Repealing Articles IV, V, VI, VII, and VIII of <br />Chapter 9 of the Code of the City of Redwood City; Adding Articles IV, V, VI, VII, <br />and VIII of Chapter 9 of the Code of the City of Redwood City Relating to the <br />Establishment of Regulations and Standards for Building and Structures in the <br />City of Redwood City and Adopting by Reference the Following Codes: 'The <br />Uniform Building Code, 1994 Edition,' 'The Uniform Building Security Code, 1994 <br />Edition'; 'The Uniform Housing Code, 1994 Edition'; 'The Uniform Mechanical <br />Code, 1994 Edition'; 'The Uniform Plumbing Code, 1994 Edition'; and 'The <br />National Electrical Code, 1993 Edition;" are reasonably necessary to provide for <br />a system of protection and that modifications or changes are reasonably <br />necessary because of local climatic, geological or topographical conditions as <br />fully set forth in the Finding of Facts filed herewith. <br /> <br /> 2. The aforesaid local amendment is enacted pursuant to the authority of <br />Section 17985.5 of the California Health and Safety Code, for the purposes of <br />addressing and meeting certain "local conditions" unique and peculiar to the City <br />of Redwood City, which are more specifically described in the Finding of Facts <br />filed herewith. <br /> <br /> 3.
