<br />78 <br />Page 6 <br /> <br />occupancy of buildings or premises and provisions to assist emergency <br />response personnel. <br /> <br />The provisions of this Code shall supplement any and all laws of the State of <br />California relating to fire safety and shall apply to all persons, firms, <br />corporations or entity without restriction, unless specifically excepted. <br /> <br />The provisions of this Code do not apply to off-site transportation of <br />hazardous materials in accordance with Department of Transportation <br />requirements. (Ord. No. 2242, 9 2, 12-5-2002) <br /> <br />Section 12.11. SECTION 102.1 OF THE FIRE CODE AMENDED. <br /> <br />Section 102.1 of the Fire Code is hereby amended in its entirety to read as <br />follows: <br /> <br />Section 102.1. Construction and Design Provisions. <br /> <br />The provisions of this Code shall apply to the construction and design <br />provisions as well as to conditions arising after the adoption thereof, except that <br />the conditions legally in existence at the time of adoption of this Code and not in <br />strict compliance therewith shall be permitted to continue only if, in the opinion of <br />the Fire Chief, they do not constitute a distinct hazard to life or property. (Ord. <br />No. 2242, S 2, 12-5-2002) <br /> <br />Section 12.12.1. SECTION 102.9 OF THE FIRE CODE AMENDED. <br /> <br />Section 102.9 of the Fire Code is hereby amended in its entirety to read as <br />follows: <br /> <br />Section 102.9. Conflicting Provisions. <br /> <br />The provisions of this Code shall be construed to be in addition to all other <br />requirements and no permit or license granted hereunder shall be construed to <br />permit a violation of any other ordinance or regulation of the City. Where there is <br />a conflict between a general requirement and a specific requirement, the specific <br />requirement shall be applicable. (Ord. No. 2242, S 2, 12-5-2002) <br /> <br />Section 12.12.2.
