A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY 1) AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO INCREASE THE CONTRACT AMOUNT WITH SETON PACIFIC CONSTRUCTION FOR THE MARSHALL STREET INTERSECTION IMPROVEMENTS AT JEFFERSON AVENUE AND MIDDLEFIELD ROAD PROJECT TO $538,387, AND 2) AUTHORIZING A TRANSFER OF $139,582 INTO THE TRAFFIC MITIGATION FEES FUND/MARSHALL STREET PROJECT WHEREAS, on March 11th, 2019, the City Council awarded the contract for the Marshall Street Intersection Improvements at Jefferson Avenue and Middlefield Road Project to Seton Pacific Construction for their low bid of $398,805, and authorized the City Manager to increase the contract amount, if necessary, up to 10% of the amount awarded; and WHEREAS, during construction, additional unforeseen pavement reconstruction was discovered to be necessary to complete the project and project costs are anticipated to exceed the awarded contract amount by $139,582; and WHEREAS, the City Council wishes to authorize the City Manager to increase the contract amount to Seton Pacific Construction by $139,582, to $538,387, to perform additional unforeseen pavement reconstruction, and to transfer $139,582 into the Traffic Mitigation Fees Fund to accommodate completion of the project. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. The City Manager is authorized to increase the contract amount with Seton Pacific Construction for the Marshall Street Intersection Improvements at Jefferson Avenue and Middlefield Road Project by $139,582 for a total amount of $538,387. Section 2. The City Council approves and authorizes the transfer of $139,582 from the Active Transportation Corridor Program (262-75625) to the Traffic Mitigation Fees Fund (285-85085).
