The provisions of this Code shall supplement any and all laws of the State of California relating to fire safety and shall apply to all persons, firms, corporations or entity without restriction, unless specifically excepted. The provisions of this Code do not apply to off-site transportation of hazardous materials in accordance with Department of Transportation requirements. (Ord. No. 2242, § 2, 12-5-2002) Section 12.11. SECTION 102.1 OF THE FIRE CODE AMENDED. Section 102.1 of the Fire Code is hereby amended in its entirety to read as follows: Section 102.1. Construction and Design Provisions. The provisions of this Code shall apply to the construction and design provisions as well as to conditions arising after the adoption thereof, except that the conditions legally in existence at the time of adoption of this Code and not in strict compliance therewith shall be permitted to continue only if, in the opinion of the Fire Chief, they do not constitute a distinct hazard to life or property. (Ord. No. 2242, § 2, 12-5-2002) Section 12.12.1. SECTION 102.9 OF THE FIRE CODE AMENDED. Section 102.9 of the Fire Code is hereby amended in its entirety to read as follows: Section 102.9. Conflicting Provisions. The provisions of this Code shall be construed to be in addition to all other requirements and no permit or license granted hereunder shall be construed to permit a violation of any other ordinance or regulation of the City. Where there is a conflict between a general requirement and a specific requirement, the specific requirement shall be applicable. (Ord. No. 2242, § 2, 12-5-2002) Section 12.12.2.
