01/14/2008 <br /> occupancy of buildings or premises and provisions to assist emergency <br /> response personnel. <br /> The provisions of this Code shall supplement any and all laws of the State of <br /> California relating to fire safety and shall apply to all persons, firms, <br /> corporations or entity without restriction, unless specifically excepted. <br /> The provisions of this Code do not apply to off-site transportation of <br /> hazardous materials in accordance with Department of Transportation <br /> requirements. (Ord. No. 2242, § 2, 12-5-2002) <br /> Section 12.11. SECTION 102.1 OF THE FIRE CODE AMENDED. <br /> Section 102.1 of the Fire Code is hereby amended in its entirety to read as <br /> follows: <br /> Section 102.1. Construction and Design Provisions. <br /> The provisions of this Code shall apply to the construction and design <br /> provisions as well as to conditions arising after the adoption thereof, except that <br /> the conditions legally in existence at the time of adoption of this Code and not in <br /> strict compliance therewith shall be permitted to continue only if, in the opinion of <br /> the Fire Chief, they do not constitute a distinct hazard to life or property. (Ord. <br /> No. 2242, § 2, 12-5-2002) <br /> Section 12.12.1. SECTION 102.9 OF THE FIRE CODE AMENDED. <br /> Section 102.9 of the Fire Code is hereby amended in its entirety to read as <br /> follows: <br /> Section 102.9. Conflicting Provisions. <br /> The provisions of this Code shall be construed to be in addition to all other <br /> requirements and no permit or license granted hereunder shall be construed to <br /> permit a violation of any other ordinance or regulation of the City. Where there is <br /> a conflict between a general requirement and a specific requirement, the specific <br /> requirement shall be applicable. (Ord. No. 2242, § 2, 12-5-2002) <br /> Section 12.12.2.
