A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF REDWOOD CITY DESIGNATING 891 EDGEWOOD ROAD A HISTORIC LANDMARK AND APPROVING A HISTORIC PRESERVATION AGREEMENT (MILLS ACT CONTRACT) WHEREAS, on July 30, 2019, Jitendra Kumar and Shruti Jain (Property Owner/Applicant) applied for Redwood City Historic Landmark designation and a Mills Act Contract (Project) at 891 Edgewood Road (APN: 052-041-010) in Redwood City, California; and WHEREAS, on August 8, 2019, the Historic Resources Advisory Committee (HRAC) held a duly noticed public hearing in accordance with all applicable requirements of the State Planning and Zoning Law and the Redwood City Municipal Code to consider the Project; and WHEREAS, the HRAC has determined that the property meets Criterion B, C, and D for designation as a historic landmark according to the historic designation criteria established by the Redwood City Historic Preservation Ordinance (Chapter 40 of the Redwood City Code) and recommended by a vote of 5-0 for local landmark designation and approval of the Mills Act Contract; and WHEREAS, on October 15, 2019, the Planning Commission held a duly noticed public hearing in accordable with all applicable requirements of the State Planning and Zoning Law, the Redwood City Municipal Code, and the Zoning Ordinance to consider the Project; and WHEREAS, on October 15, 2019, the Planning Commission voted 6-0 (Commissioner Smith absent) to adopt Resolution 19-17 recommending that the City Council designate the residence a historic landmark and to approve the Mills Act Contract; and WHEREAS, on December 16, 2019, the City Council held a duly noticed public hearing in accordable with all applicable requirements of the State Planning and Zoning Law, the Redwood City Municipal Code, and the Zoning Ordinance to consider the Project; and WHERAS, the residence and property located at 891 Edgewood Road, Redwood City, California does meet the historic designation criteria established by the Redwood City Historic Preservation Ordinance as follows: Page 1 of 3 ATTY/RESO.0118/CC RESO MILLS ACT -891 EDGEWOOD RD REV: 12-09-19 PR H1.
