7.C. - Page 62 of 178 <br />ORDINANCE NO. <br />ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY <br />AMENDING ARTICLE 60, ZONING MAP, OF THE REDWOOD CITY ZONING <br />ORDINANCE, TO REZONE PROPERTIES LOCATED AT 1455 MADISON <br />AVENUE AND 711 NEVADA STREET FROM THE RESIDENTIAL DUPLEX (R- <br />2) DISTRICT TO THE PUBLIC FACILITIES (PF) DISTRICT <br />WHEREAS, on November 19, 2019, the Planning Commission, at a duly noticed public <br />hearing, considered whether to recommend rezoning the properties located at 1455 Madison <br />Avenue and 711 Nevada Street, located at Red Morton Park, from the Residential Duplex (R2) <br />district to the Public Facilities district (PF) as shown on Exhibit "A"; and <br />WHEREAS, on November 19, 2019, in compliance with California Environmental Quality <br />Act regulations, the Planning Commission at a duly noticed public hearing considered whether to <br />recommend certification of the Final Environmental Impact Report for the Veterans Memorial <br />Building/Senior Center (VMSC) and Sequoia YMCA project ("Project") at Red Morton Park; and <br />WHEREAS, the Planning Commission reviewed the associated materials and considered <br />the evidence received at the November 19, 2019 public hearing, including public comments and <br />other oral and written testimony and adopted Resolution 19-23 recommending that the City <br />Council amend article 60, zoning map, of the City of Redwood City Zoning Ordinance, to rezone <br />properties located at 1455 Madison Avenue and 711 Nevada Street from the Residential Duplex <br />(R-2) District to Public Facilities (PF) District; and <br />WHEREAS, in compliance with California Environmental Quality Act regulations, the City <br />Council at a duly noticed public hearing on December 16, 2019, adopted and certified the Final <br />Environmental Impact Report for the Project; and <br />WHEREAS, the City Council, having reviewed the recommendation on December 16, <br />2019 duly noticed public hearing, finds the proposed zoning is in the public interest and consistent <br />with the purposes of the Redwood City Zoning Ordinance. <br />NOW THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY DOES <br />ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: <br />SECTION 1. The recitals set forth above are true and correct, and are hereby <br />incorporated herein by this reference as if fully set forth in their entirety. <br />SECTION 2. Based on the facts in the staff report, written and oral testimony and <br />evidence presented, the City Council finds this amendment to the Zoning Map to be in the public <br />interest and in conformance with the General Plan and the goals and objectives of Article 41 of <br />the Zoning Ordinance. <br />SECTION 3. The City Council of the City of Redwood City hereby Amend Article 60, <br />Zoning District Boundaries — Maps, to rezone various properties depicted in the map attached <br />hereto as Exhibit A and incorporated by reference, from Residential Duplex (R-2) Zoning District <br />to Public Facilities (PF) Zoning District, and described as follows: <br />ATTY/ORD.512/CC ORD AMENDING ZONING MAP —YMCA PROJECT <br />REV: 12-12-19 IY <br />Page 1 of 3 <br />485 <br />
