SPECIAL ORDERS: <br /> <br />Presentation: Peninsula Arts Council, Diamond Award, City of Redwood City, <br />Government Support Award - Vice Mayor Howard <br /> <br />Vice Mayor Howard explained that this award was presented to Redwood City for <br />embracing cultural activities taking place at the downtown plaza. She further stated that <br />it is an honor receiving such an award because it speaks to the quality of life in <br />Redwood City. Vice Mayor Howard thanked the San Mateo Peninsula Arts Council for <br />recognizing the City of Redwood City through the award. <br /> <br />Mayor Foust wished everyone a Happy New Year. She thanked staff and the Public <br />Works Department for its work in keeping the community safe and dry during the last <br />storm. Mayor Foust extended a wish for a fast recovery to Officer Casey Donovan who <br />got hurt in the line of duty. <br /> <br />6. ORAL COMMUNICATIONS AND CONSENT <br />COUNCIUREDEVELOPMENT AGENCY BOARD <br /> <br />CALENDAR <br /> <br />CITY <br /> <br />John Bruno provided an update on the Redwood City Saltworks and he explained that <br />there is a need to interconnect the plans to the community. He is aware that it seems <br />that the community would like to see a different use for that area. He added that about <br />6,000 comments were received and 220 residents attended the first workshop. He <br />explained the specific topics discussed at this meeting and he presented a copy of the <br />work product form. The full report is viewable at www.rcsaltworks.com. <br /> <br />M/S Aguirre/Hartnett to waive reading of the Consent Calendar except the ordinances by <br />title, adopt the resolutions and the ordinances, and approve other items. The motion <br />passed by a unanimous roll call vote by those present. <br /> <br />6.1 Section - Motions - <br /> <br />A. Amendment No. 1 to the Professional Services Agreement with BKF Engineers for <br />the Belmont Slough Outfall Improvement Project. <br /> <br />Recommendation: <br />Approve, by motion, Amendment No.1 for $25,389.00 to the Agreement with BFK <br />Engineers ("Agreement") for consulting engineering and design services for the <br />Belmont Slough Outfall Improvement Project.
