6.G. - Page 1 of 7 <br />/<�ik <br />Redwood <br />CitylCallifornia <br />Faunded 1867 <br />A,&/ <br />DATE: January 13, 2020 <br />SUBJECT <br />STAFF REPORT <br />To the Honorable Mayor and City Council <br />From the City Manager <br />Waive second reading and adopt an ordinance amending the Zoning Map to rezone the VMB/SC-YMCA <br />project site to "Public Facilities" <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />Waive the second reading and adopt an ordinance amending the Zoning Map to rezone the VMB/SC- <br />YMCA project site to "Public Facilities." <br />STRATEGIC INITIATIVE <br />Community for All Ages <br />BACKGROUND <br />The Planning Commission held a public hearing on November 19, 2019 and adopted two resolutions <br />regarding the project (i) recommending that the City Council certify the Final EIR; adopt CEQA findings, a <br />Mitigation Monitoring Reporting Program and a Statement of Overriding Considerations; and (II) <br />recommending that the City Council approve a Zoning Map Amendment to rezone the VMB/SC-YMCA <br />project site to "Public Facilities." <br />On December 16, 2019, following a public hearing, City Council waived the first reading an introduced an <br />ordinance to rezone the property at 1455 Madison Avenue, 711 Nevada Street and an adjacent parcel <br />with no address. The City Council also adopted a resolution certifying the Final EIR, adopting CEQA <br />Findings, a Mitigation Monitoring Reporting Program and Statement of Overriding Considerations and <br />adopted a resolution approving the City -YMCA Master Project Agreement, including a Ground Lease and <br />Purchase Sale Agreement.
