Exhibit A <br />Governance Structure <br />Redwood City 2020 uses a two-tiered governance model described below: <br />Redwood City 2020 Leadership Council <br />Role: Serves as the policy-making body for the collaborative and takes action after receiving <br />information and recommendations from the Executive Team and the Redwood City 2020 <br />Executive Director. The Leadership Council sets vision, approves the appointment/termination of <br />the Executive Director and any changes to the Executive Director's salary, approves the annual <br />budget, approves program initiatives, approves monitoring and evaluation of program <br />implementation, aligns the values and purposes of member organizations and Redwood City <br />2020, and provides resources to sustain and grow the work of the collaborative. In addition, the <br />Leadership Council seeks resources and provides the forum in which issues impacting the <br />community served by Redwood City 2020 can be raised and addressed in a collaborative manner. <br />Membership: Each Redwood City 2020 partner organization is entitled to have up to two <br />members from the policy body of its organization serve on the Leadership Council. These <br />members should be elected or appointed directors, or have equivalent policy level responsibility <br />in their respective organization. <br />Structure: The Leadership Council will annually select a Chair from its members, who will be <br />responsible for leading the meetings of the Leadership Council, serving as liaison between the <br />Leadership Council and the Executive Team, and working with the Executive Director to develop <br />meeting agendas. This position will rotate among partner organizations on an annual basis every <br />August. <br />Meetings: The Leadership Council will meet at least five (5) times annually. Additional meetings <br />will be scheduled as needed. The Leadership Council may choose to have one of these meetings <br />designated as a "joint policy meeting," in which the Redwood City 2020 Executive Team and <br />Leadership Council will meet together. The Leadership Council may choose to convene a meeting <br />of the community and program partners that work in Redwood City 2020 priority areas to share <br />information and receive input about community needs. <br />The dates selected for Leadership Council meetings for FY 2019-20 include: <br />Wednesday, August 14, 2019 from 8:30 AM —1:00 PM (Joint Policy Meeting) <br />Wednesday, October 16, 2019 from 9:00 AM -10:30 AM <br />Wednesday, January 15, 2020 from 9:00 AM -10:30 AM <br />Wednesday, March 18, 2020 from 9:00 AM -10:30 AM <br />Wednesday, May 20, 2020 from 9:00 AM -10:30 AM <br />Redwood City 2020 Executive Team <br />Role: Oversees operational coordination of Redwood City 2020 initiatives by supporting and <br />advising the Executive Director, reviewing data and aiding the evaluation of programs and <br />initiatives, making recommendations to the Leadership Council regarding policy, program and <br />REV: 10-23-19 RL <br />Page 5 of 7 <br />ATTY/AGR.2019.272/Redwood City School District (Page 5 of 7) <br />
