DES:djk ~9/26/95 (026/41) <br /> <br />aggregate natural gas needs of interested ABAG members and <br />cooperating members, to collectively purchase natural gas and <br />transportation services through a competitive request for <br />proposals, and to negotiate an agreement with PG&E for <br /> <br />distribution of natural gas; <br /> NOW, THEREFORE; <br /> <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY, <br />AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br /> 1. This Council hereby authorizes the participation of the <br />City of Redwood City in the ABAG Power Purchasing Pool to <br />undertake a bulk purchasing program for natural gas and <br />electricity on behalf of the City of Redwood City and other ABAG <br />members or cooperating members. <br /> <br /> 2. The City Manager is hereby authorized and directed to <br />entered into a subscription agreement with ABAG, appointing ABAG <br />the agent for the City of Redwood City to negotiate a <br />distribution agreement with PG&E, issuing a Request for Proposal <br />for the purchase and transportation of natural gas and to <br />negotiate a contract with the responsive proposer proposing the <br />lowest costs, a copy of which agreement is on file in the office <br />of the City Clerk, to which copy reference is hereby made for the <br />full particulars thereof, is hereby approved and the City Manager <br />and City Clerk are hereby authorized and directed to execute and <br />to attest thereto, respectively, said agreement for and on behalf <br />of the City of Redwood City. <br /> <br /> 3. The City Manager, or his/her designee, is hereby <br /> authorized and directed to ratify the contracts negotiated by <br /> <br /> 2 <br /> <br /> <br />
