Exhibit A SCOPE OF SERVICES AND FEE Task 1: Retain a mechanical engineer to do a preliminary assessment of the mechanical and plumbing requirements for the makerspace renovation project. • Review existing drawings and photos of the mechanical and plumbing systems that run through and provide service to the existing computer lab • Assess the needs for new services required by the proposed improvements to the space • Prepare preliminary plans and scope of work descriptions for the proposed new work #or-pr�icing-purposes.- _ • Review the conceptual cost estimate for ffiis scope 6f work Flat -rate fee for task 1 will be $1000 Task 2: Retain a mechanical engineer to perform the following tasks: • Review Mechanical layout plan and notes for the proposed modifications at the new meeting room • Review Plumbing layout plan and notes to add the new sink into the makerspace along the outside wall, with connections to the existing water and waste lines, and a pump as required by their initial study • Review the final cost estimate for this scope of work Flat -rate fee for task 2 will be $3000 Task 3: Provide permitting phase services for the makerspace renovation project. • Talk with staff at the building department to determine the requirements for submitting for the permit • Obtain and fill out the necessary forms to apply for the permit • Receive and respond to plan check comments from the building department. • All modifications to the drawings and specifications will be clouded and noted so that they can easily be identified during the re -check process. • Prepare a written response to the plan check comments for the re -check. • Resubmit the documents for the re -check process. • Begin outreach process to select general contractors who might be interested in bidding the work. Flat -rate fee for task 3 will be $6700 Consultant will be paid upon the completion of each of the three tasks pursuant to invoicing compliant with Section 6 Compensation.
