7.7 Court Pav <br />Except for employees whose work shift ends at 8:00 A.M., an off-duty employee <br />who is subpoenaed to appear in court in cases in which the City is a party shall be <br />compensated at one and one-half (I-1/2) times the employee's regular straight - <br />time rate for all hours the employee is so ordered by the City to appear with a <br />minimum of four (4) hours. <br />Any employee whose work shift ends at 8:00 A.M., who is subpoenaed to appear <br />in court at 9:30 A.M. or earlier in cases in which the City is a party shall remain <br />on duty and perform regularly scheduled assignments until commencement of the <br />court appearance. The employee shall be compensated at one and one-half (1-1/2) <br />times the employee's regular straight -time rate of pay for hours worked in excess <br />of his/her regularly scheduled hours and for hours he/she is required to spend <br />attending court proceedings. <br />7.8 Longevity Pay <br />Employees with ten or more years of service with the City of Redwood City who <br />maintain a current satisfactory performance evaluation and possess a valid <br />advanced certificate awarded by the California Commission on Peace Officer <br />Standards and Training along with sixty (60) college semester credits of which <br />twenty-four (24) must be in the Administration of Justice or in the alternative, an <br />employee who possesses an A.A. or higher degree from an accredited institution <br />of higher learning, shall be eligible to receive an additional 7-1/2% of pay. <br />It is understood that an employee shall not receive both Educational Incentive Pay <br />and Longevity Pay. <br />7.9 Call -Back / Call -Out Pav <br />Employees who are called back after leaving work at the end of the normal <br />working day or called in to work on their days off shall be credited with no less <br />than two (2) hours at the overtime rate. <br />7.10 Educational Incentive <br />Police Officers who obtain a P.O.S.T. Intermediate Certificate shall receive <br />educational incentive pay equal to 2.5% of base salary. Police Officers who <br />obtain a P.O. S.T. Advanced Certificate shall receive educational incentive pay <br />equal to 5.0% of base salary. Upon receiving the certificate, the City shall process <br />the educational incentive pay effective retroactively to the date of eligibility. <br />7.11 K-9 Maintenance Compensation <br />Police Officers who are assigned as K-9 officers shall receive seven (7) hours of <br />pay per pay period, compensated at one and -half (1-1/2) times the employee's <br />base pay, for the care and maintenance of their dog. <br />
