CLK-Pamela Aguilar
From: Jeff Gee <jeff@jeffgee.org>
Sent: Monday, January 27, 2020 4:05 PM
To: GRP -City Council
Subject: Campaign Limits
Mayor Howard and Councilmembers
Good afternoon. I briefly reviewed the item on the agenda this evening regarding campaign limits. I was
curious about what happens to limits when an Independent Expenditure Commiitee participated in an election,
either for or against a candidate.
Do the limits still apply if an IE opposes a candidate? Does the IE expenditure count if it supports a
candidate?
There have been previous conversations in Redwood City about IE's in the last two council elections.
Regards,
Jeff
Jeff Gee
(650)483-7412
