7.A. - Page 15 of 18 <br />COMMERCIAL AND MULTI -FAMILY RESIDENTIAL (PROPOSED UNSCHEDULED SERVICES RATES) <br />The services offered and the proposed rates are listed below. <br />• Distance Charges for containers located 50 to 100 feet or less from access point for contractor's <br />collection vehicle —10% of the monthly base rate. <br />• Distance Charges for containers located 101 feet or more from access point for contractor's <br />collection vehicle — 25% of the monthly base rate. <br />• Extra Pick-up fee — 25% of the base monthly rate for the size of container collected once per week <br />— per collection event. <br />• Additional Targeted Recyclable Materials or Organic Materials Cart Rental or Purchase — Rental <br />$3.51 per month, Purchase 64 -gallon cart $73.60, Purchase 96 -gallon cart $80.61. <br />• Fee to Collect Contaminated Targeted Recyclable Materials or Organic Materials Container — 25% <br />of the base monthly rate for the size of the container collected once per week plus $17.53 (per <br />collection event). <br />• Key Service - $11.10 per collection event, Lock Purchase $19.86 (one time per account). <br />• Overage Fee —100% of the base monthly rate per collection event <br />• Overage Bag Cost - 50% of the base monthly rate or a minimum of $9.34 (whichever is greater) — <br />per bag. <br />• Dirty Cart Replacement - $75.93 per 32 -gallon cart, $87.62 per 64 -gallon cart, $99.30 per 96 -gallon <br />ca rt <br />• Container Cleaning - $58.42 per cart, $99.30 per Bin or Drop Box. <br />PUBLIC HEARING ON PROPOSED RATES <br />At the January 27, 2020 public hearing, the City Council will consider oral and written testimony, as well <br />as written protests by property owners and customers of record against the proposed solid waste service <br />rate increases. Following the hearing, the City Council may adopt a resolution that adopts the proposed <br />rates. If, prior to the close of the public input portion of the public hearing, written protests are presented <br />by a majority of customers of record or owners of a majority of parcels that receive solid waste services, <br />the City Council will not increase the rates from their existing level. <br />If you would like additional information on the proposed rates, please visit Public Works Services at 1400 <br />Broadway Street, Redwood City, CA 94063 or call 650-780-7464. Any person interested, including all solid <br />waste and recycling collection customers of the City of Redwood City may appear at the public hearing <br />and be heard on any matter related to the proposed increase in rates. <br />If you wish to file a written protest, please submit or mail a letter in a sealed envelope addressed to Solid <br />Waste Rates, City Clerk, City of Redwood City, 1017 Middlefield Road, Redwood City, CA 94063. Your <br />written protest must: (i) Include a statement that it is a protest against the proposed change in rates; (ii) <br />Provide the name of the record owner or customer of record; (iii) Identify the affected parcel by assessor's <br />parcel number or service address; and (iv) Include the original signature of the record owner or customer <br />of record with respect to the identified parcel. Protests will not be counted if any of the required elements <br />(i through iv) are omitted. Protests mailed or delivered to the City Clerk at City Hall must be received by <br />5:00 p.m. on Monday, January 27, 2020. Protests can also be submitted at the City Council meeting at <br />7:00 p.m. Monday, January 27, 2020 until the close of the public input portion of the public hearing on <br />the matter. <br />
