2/12/01 <br />O R I G I N A L <br />RESOLUTION NO. 14144 <br />RESOLUTION APPROVING BID DOCUMENTS <br />AND AUTHORIZING ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS <br />FOR LEASE OF CITY PROPERTY FOR USE AS A <br />CHILDCARE FACILITY <br />WHEREAS, the City of Redwood owns certain real property located <br />adjacent to Water Tank "A" in the Redwood Shores area of the City (the <br />"Property "), which Property is more particularly described in the bid documents <br />hereinafter referenced; and <br />WHEREAS, licensed childcare facilities are needed to provide a safe, <br />healthy, and educational environment for preschool and school -age children of <br />working parents; and <br />WHEREAS, there is a serious shortage of licensed childcare facilities in <br />the City of Redwood City; and <br />WHEREAS, development of property for use as licensed childcare <br />facilities will help alleviate the shortage of such facilities in furtherance of the <br />public health, welfare, and safety; and <br />WHEREAS, this Council desires that the Property shall be developed, <br />operated, and maintained by private enterprise for use as a licensed childcare <br />facility in conjunction with offices, which childcare facility will serve parents of <br />children employed in said office facility and also residents of the City of Redwood <br />City; <br />NOW, THEREFORE; <br />Reso -1081 <br />DES: rg <br />R /S h a red /Redwood /Co u n ci I <br />02/07/01:02/14/01 R <br />
