8.A. - Page 49 of 72 <br />COMMUNICATION AND COMMUNITY BUILDING <br />Build community through information sharing, transparency, dialogue, and community engagement. <br />GOALS <br />UPDATE <br />Offer a community leadership program in fall 2019 (CMO) <br />Complete; successfully held the Community Building Academy in fall 2019, a <br />seven session academy with 34 participants. <br />Complete the Americans with Disability Act Self Evaluation and <br />Complete; the ADA Self Evaluation was completed in spring 2019 and the <br />Transition Plan by October 2019 (CMO) <br />Transition Plan was developed with community engagement. Staff received <br />input from agencies, organizations and individuals with disabilities to help <br />address and prioritize current and future needs through community <br />meetings and an online survey in October/November 2019. <br />Prepare a progress report and develop a work plan to consider <br />Complete; City Council direction to initiate the Central Redwood City Plan <br />comprehensive updates to the City's General Plan including extensive <br />and issue a Request for Proposals (RFP) for the visioning process which will <br />community engagement by early 2020 (CDT) <br />include extensive community engagement. <br />Conduct a Community Services Satisfaction Survey by early 2020 (CMO) <br />Complete; a community survey was conducted in late 2019 and results <br />were presented to the City Council in January 2020. <br />Partner with the County of San Mateo to conduct Census outreach to <br />In progress; City outreach and engagement plan was presented to Council in <br />ensure a complete count by April 2020 (CMO) <br />February 2020.
