8.A. - Page 56 of 72 <br />ECONOMIC VITALITY <br />Support Redwood City's economic prosperity by attracting, retaining, and expanding a diverse mix of <br />businesses that meet community needs. <br />GOALS <br />UPDATE <br />Support the ongoing implementation of Cannabis regulations (CMO) <br />In progress; Staff is currently implementing the last of the four -phased <br />approach to implementing regulations to allow for various types of <br />commercial cannabis businesses within the City. There are currently 6 non - <br />storefront cannabis delivery businesses permitted in Redwood City. Phase <br />4 of the City's cannabis regulatory process is to consider revisions to the <br />City's municipal code and zoning code that would allow storefront, or <br />"walk-in," cannabis retailers. An online survey is currently live and two <br />community meetings seeking input have been scheduled: February 18 and <br />March 5. Staff expects to bring forward a proposed Ordinance for <br />storefront sales to the City Council for consideration in April 2020. <br />Collect 100% Cannabis Business Tax from approved Redwood City <br />In progress; the first approved cannabis business went into operation in <br />cannabis businesses within 60 days of the due date (CMO) <br />February 2020. Tax information will be reported in the quarterly sales tax <br />update. <br />Increase the local minimum wage to $15 per hour by January 2020 <br />Complete; on January 1, 2020, the City's local minimum wage increased to <br />(CMO) <br />$15.38, which was $15 per hour plus the 2019 consumer price index (CPI). <br />Identistratenew family entertainment uses that are a good fit for <br />In progress; Staff have recently met with the following family <br />Redwood City such as bowling, bocce ball, or indoor sports by June 2020 <br />entertainment centers: Bowlero; Punch Bowl Social; Super Charged <br />(CMO) <br />Entertainment; Olympic Golf; Top Golf; Uncle Buck's Fish Bowl and Grill; <br />and Campo di Bocce <br />GUIDING PRINCIPLES AND GOALS 9 1 P a g e 291 <br />
