CLK-Pamela Aguilar
From: Alisa MacAvoy <amacavoy@resdk8.net>
Sent: Thursday, March 12, 2020 1:16 PM
To: GRP -City Council
Subject: Fw: COVID-19 Superintendent's Update: March 11
This e-mail is from an external source. Please do not open attachments or click links from an unknown or
suspicious origin.o5Xa2t
FYI - we have asked that you all be included in ongoing communications. But here is
this message. Just in case. All of our updates on covid-19 can be found on our website.
Thanks,
Alisa MacAvoy
Redwood City School District Board Trustee
650/888-5933
----- Forwarded Message -----
From: RCSD Communications <info@resdk8.net>
To: Redwood City School District Recipients crecipients@resd.parentlink.net>
Sent: Wednesday, March 11, 2020, 06:05:47 PM PDT
Subject: COVID-19 Superintendent's Update: March I I
Dear RCSD Community,
Thank you for your continued attention to our COVID-19 communication; information is developing and changing quickly and we
appreciate your flexibility and cooperation as we try to keep you updated.
I became aware of new information today that, while it is not necessarily about RCSD, 1 feel I must share with you. The State of
California has notified the County of San Mateo and the City of San Carlos that passengers from the Grand Princess cruise ship
needing care, but not hospitalization, will be temporarily housed in a hotel in San Carlos. You may have already seen some news
coverage.
I understand that the State will manage the situation and the passengers will not interact with the hotel staff or the general public.
If you live in the San Carlos area of our district's attendance zone, you should know that the City of San Carlos is updating its
residents as new information becomes available via its website at www.clt2ofsancarlos.org. The City also set up a hotline at
650.802.4347 with a recording of the latest information and COVID-19 resources.
Please join me in keeping these families in your thoughts. I can't imagine what they are going through after what is supposed to be a
joyous time during their vacation has now turned into this painful episode for them. May they be able to rejoin their families soon.
Also, please be aware that the RCSD Cabinet continues to plan should there be the need for RCSD to continue teaching and leaming
off school sites. We met again this morning to discuss details and I continue to ask that you, too, make the appropriate plans at home
should your child(ren) need to be learning from home. If public health experts advise RCSD to move to a distance learning format, all
families and employees will be notified of that decision through these means and we will let you know details of how that is going to
work.
