6.1. - Page 4 of 4 <br />RESOLUTION NO. <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD <br />CITY AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO RENEW AN EXCESS <br />INSURANCE POLICY WITH THE CALIFORNIA STATE ASSOCIATION <br />OF COUNTIES EXCESS INSURANCE AUTHORITY FOR JULY 1, 2020 <br />THROUGH JUNE 30, 2021 AND AND AUTHORIZING PAYMENT FOR <br />EXCESS INSURANCE POLICY PREMIUM <br />WHEREAS, the City of Redwood City is self-insured for workers' compensation; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, the City of Redwood City annually purchases excess insurance <br />coverage through the California State Association of Counties Excess Insurance Authority <br />for claims that exceed costs over $350,000; and <br />WHEREAS, the upcoming excess insurance policy is for July 1, 2020 through June <br />30, 2021; and <br />WHEREAS, the City of Redwood City's FY 2020-21 excess insurance premium is <br />estimated to be $750,000; and <br />WHEREAS, funding is included in the FY 2020-21 Recommended Budget in the <br />Workers' Compensation Self -Insurance Fund. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF REDWOOD CITY, AS FOLLOWS: <br />1.
