K. - Page 1 of 30 <br />/<�ik <br />Redwood <br />CitylCallifornia <br />Faunded 1867 <br />Ago/ <br />DATE: April 27, 2020 <br />SUBJECT <br />STAFF REPORT <br />To the Honorable Mayor and City Council <br />From the City Manager <br />Adopt three resolutions for the appropriation of funds associated to the financial impacts related to <br />COVID-19 <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />1) Adopt a resolution of the City Council of the City of Redwood City waiving late payment penalties for <br />solid waste, water and sewer utilities for the period of March 2020 through August 2020 for residential <br />and commercial customers due to the COVID-19 pandemic; <br />2) Adopt a resolution of the City Council of the City of Redwood City appropriating $393,000 from the <br />General Fund to establish a Covid-19 emergency rental assistance program in the affordable housing fund; <br />and <br />3) Adopt a resolution of the City Council of the City of Redwood City appropriating $300,000 from the <br />General Fund to contribute to San Mateo County Strong to support Redwood City small business relief <br />efforts. <br />STRATEGIC PLAN GUIDING PRINCIPLE <br />Excellence in Government Operations <br />BACKGROUND <br />At the City Council special meeting on Monday, April 6, the City Council directed staff to draft three <br />resolutions to support residents economically impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. The staff report is <br />attached as Attachment D.
