6.K. - Page 5 of 30 <br />payment of City utilities; and <br />WHEREAS, a temporary waiver from March 2020 through August 2020 of such <br />penalties may provide a small measure of relief for residential and commercial customers <br />who may be adversely impacted by the economic circumstances as a result of the <br />COVID-19 virus pandemic; and <br />WHEREAS, at the April 6, 2020 City Council meeting, the City Council directed <br />staff to develop a resolution to waive late payment penalties for solid waste, water and <br />sewer utilities for the period of March 2020 through August 2020 for residential and <br />commercial customers. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF REDWOOD CITY AS FOLLOWS: <br />Section 1. The foregoing recitals are true and correct, are hereby incorporated <br />herein by this reference as if fully set forth in their entirety, and constitute findings in this <br />matter. <br />Section 2. The City Council hereby waives late penalties and interest on solid waste, <br />water and sewer utility billing assessed between March 1, 2020 and August 31, 2020 for <br />residential and commercial customers due to the Covid-19 pandemic. <br />Section 3.
