I am writing you today about 2 things that came to my attention as
a follow-up to the City Council meeting:
1) 1 am a resident of Redwood City and my home is located in Redwood Shores.
I understand that the City Council had discussed the possibility of closing down
Bridge Parkway in Redwood Shores to vehicle traffic. As a homeowner who depends
on using Bridge Parkway to get to any of the necessary essential services including
groceries, pharmacy, gas stations, etc, I want to let you know how much disruption
and confusion this would cause me & my family and my neighborhood as a whole.
I am not sure what or who would bring this idea to the table to the City Council but
please understand that in our world today with shelter in place order where
uncertainty and confusion are the norm, we need less confusion and easier access -
not the other way around.
2) In addition, I was glad to hear about a plan to support the Redwood City schools.
However, it came to my attention that Sandpiper elementary school and Redwood
Shores elementary school were not part of the list of Redwood City schools that had
been identified to receive this support. Was this in error? We live in Redwood Shores
but we are part of Redwood City so I was confused by this omission.
Thanks and please don't hesitate to contact me if you need additional information or
context behind these 2 asks for clarification.
Ashlee Yang
(cell: 415-378-5012)
