Specific programs, <br />projects, and expenditures for the 2008 to 2009 timeframe are discussed in the next section. In <br />addition, the Agency will support the expansion and revitalization of the affordable housing stock <br />in the Project Area (See Section II). <br /> <br />D. Programs. Projects and Expenditures for the Next Two Years <br /> <br />The Agency has completed key projects identified in the Plan, including the Courthouse Square, <br />the public parking garage, and the retail/cinema project. <br /> <br />Based on projections prepared by Fraser and Associates, the Agency will receive approximately <br />$11.8 million in net non-housing tax increment in FY 2007/2008 and 2008/2009. Depending <br />upon the availability of funding and the specific funding requirements of projects, the projects <br />and programs that may be undertaken over the remaining two years of the !mplementation Plan <br />period include the following: <br /> <br />. Additional gateway features and directional signage; <br /> <br />. Improvements to pedestrian linkages within the downtown and to adjacent <br />neighborhoods and transit; <br /> <br />. Additional improvements to public open space and parks; <br /> <br />. Planning activities for a property based improvement district to fund both capital <br />improvements and signature events in the downtown; <br /> <br />. Continued financial assistance for signature events in the downtown; <br /> <br />. Expansion and restructuring of the storefront improvement program to provide design <br />assistance and image/marketing assistance to storeowners. <br /> <br />. Assistance with assembling development sites for residential and commercial projects. <br /> <br />. Develop programs for attracting new businesses. <br /> <br />. Support business expansion and retention efforts. <br /> <br />. Assistance to commercial development projects as opportunities arise and are warranted. <br /> <br />.
