<br />RepORT <br /> <br />6.10 <br />Page 1 <br /> <br /> <br />February 11, 2008 <br /> <br />SUBJECT <br />Early Entry Shelter Pilot Program Agreement with San Mateo County Human Services <br />Agency Shelter Services <br /> <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />Approve and authorize the City Manager to sign the Early Entry Shelter Pilot Program <br />Agreement between San Mateo County Human Services Agency Shelter Services and <br />the City of Redwood City for the period of January 1-June 30, 2008. <br /> <br />BACKGROUND <br />In February 2007, Council approved an agreement with the San Mateo County Human <br />Services Agency Shelter Services for the Early Entry Shelter Pilot Program. Under this <br />pilot program, single homeless adults who are seeking shelter and are willing and <br />eligible to go into shelter anywhere in San Mateo County are able to access a motel bed <br />when no space is available at any of the shelters. <br /> <br />In December 2007, the San Mateo County Human Services Agency agreed to provide <br />an additional $25,000 to extend the pilot program through June 2008. <br /> <br />AL TERNA TlVES <br />Council could choose not to sign the agreement - and not accept funding from San <br />Mateo County Human Services Agency for the Early Entry Shelter Pilot Program. <br /> <br />FISCAL IMPACT <br />The contract is for the amount of $25,000.
