Comment to city council members of Redwood City for consideration at the May 4, 2020 meeting.
Dear Council Members,
Thank you for your continued commitment to the many issues affecting our community during this
complicated and disturbing sheltering -in-place crisis. The needs are many, and it's been reassuring to
see how many individuals and businesses have stepped up to help.
I especially want to thank you for the council's long-term view by recognizing that it is essential that we
continue to take steps to counter climate change. Any actions that the city takes to reduce our
dependence on fossil fuels, and encourage electric power sources for vehicles and building construction
is important.
The decisions you make today will help to protect our air, reduce sea level rise, lower the temperature,
and keep our city vibrant and healthy for our children and grandchildren. This is good for our families
and good for business.
Thank you,
Joan Ferguson, 40 -year resident and member of Fossil Free Midpeninsula
202 Rutherford Ave., Redwood City, CA
