Oral update on the City's response to Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) <br />City Manager Melissa Stevenson Diaz gave the update. <br />The City Clerk read public comments received from the following members of <br />the public via email into the record: <br />• Chuck and Terri <br />• Maria Rutenberg <br />• Heidi Vondermolen <br />• Bonnie Alesna <br />• Susan Pellizer <br />Recommendation: <br />Oral informational update on the City's response to Novel Coronavirus (COVID- <br />19). <br />CEQA: <br />This is not a project under California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) <br />6.B. Discuss COVID-19 impacts on housing and actions to avoid evictions of <br />Redwood City residents financially impacted by COVID-19 (454) <br />Reso(0020)15830 <br />Housing Leadership Manager Alin Lancaster gave a presentation on the item. <br />The City Clerk read public comments received from the following members of <br />the public via email into the record: <br />• Amelia Dimitri <br />• Scott Morton <br />• Cameron Hoffman <br />• Jeremy Smith <br />• Sue Nix <br />• Susie Welty <br />Recommendation: <br />Discuss Redwood City's response to COVID-19 impacts on housing and: <br />1. Receive update on potential San Mateo County efforts to prevent evictions <br />on residents throughout the County and, if necessary, direct staff to develop an <br />urgency ordinance to implement a moratorium on the eviction of residential <br />tenants for non-payment of rent due to the COVID-19 pandemic; <br />2. Adopt a Resolution Allocating $150,000 from Existing Transient Occupancy <br />Tax (TOT) Collected from Short -Term Rental Uses to Fund a COVID-19 <br />Emergency Rental Assistance Fund, and by motion, authorize the City Manager <br />Page 5 of 7 <br />
