6.1. - Page 1 of 52 <br />/<�ik <br />Redwood <br />CitylCallifornia <br />Faunded 1867 <br />A,&/ <br />DATE: June 22, 2020 <br />SUBJECT <br />STAFF REPORT <br />To the Honorable Mayor and City Council <br />From the City Manager <br />Agreement for services with Arboricultural Specialties, Inc. dba The Professional Tree Care Company for <br />comprehensive street tree maintenance <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />By motion, approve and authorize the City Manager to execute a one-year agreement for services with <br />Arboricultural Specialties, Inc. dba The Professional Tree Care Company for comprehensive street tree <br />maintenance in an amount not to exceed $230,000, including City Manager authority to extend the <br />agreement for two additional, consecutive two-year terms, for an aggregate not -to -exceed amount of <br />$1,150,000. <br />STRATEGIC PLAN GUIDING PRINCIPLE <br />Excellence in Government Operations <br />BACKGROUND <br />The Public Works Services Department (PWS) is responsible for the maintenance of approximately 27,000 <br />street trees in its urban forest. With such a large inventory of trees, the City periodically requires <br />assistance from an outside contractor to support the maintenance efforts of the City's four tree staff <br />members.
