6.C. - Page 1 of 29 <br />/<�ik <br />Redwood <br />CitylCallifornia <br />Faunded 1867 <br />A,&/ <br />DATE: June 22, 2020 <br />SUBJECT <br />STAFF REPORT <br />To the Honorable Mayor and City Council <br />From the City Manager <br />Amend the City of Redwood City Real Property Acquisition and Disposal Policy to accommodate proposed <br />acquisitions and dispositions of real property without Planning Commission consideration <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />By motion, approve the amended City of Redwood City Real Property Acquisition and Disposal Policy to <br />allow proposed acquisitions and disposals of real property without consideration by the Planning <br />Commission. <br />STRATEGIC PLAN GUIDING PRINCIPLE <br />Excellence in Government Operations <br />BACKGROUND <br />On November 19, 2012, the City of Redwood City adopted a Real Property Acquisition and Disposal Policy <br />(Real Property Policy) to set forth responsibilities, general strategies and procedures for the acquisition <br />and disposal of real property. The Real Property Policy is designed to ensure the City of Redwood City is <br />in a state of readiness as it relates to acquiring or disposing of City property and that the City is managing <br />its property portfolio consistent with the City Council's Economic Development, Housing, and General <br />Plan strategies. <br />The Real Property Policy currently contemplates that all proposed acquisitions and disposals of real <br />property are to be submitted to the Planning Commission for a determination on the consistency with the <br />General Plan. <br />Page 1 of 3 <br />City of Redwood City 1017 Middlefield Road, Redwood City, CA. 94063 Tel: 650-780-7000 www.redwoodcity.ore <br />25 <br />
