7.A. - Page 2 of 4 <br />ANALYSIS <br />During the recruitment period for BCC applicants, community outreach included an announcement in the <br />city's electronic newsletter, the use of social media outlets such as Facebook, Linkedln, Twitter, and <br />Instagram, and announcements to various Redwood City neighborhood associations. Staff also contacted <br />applicants who had previously applied for vacancies in an effort to garner new interest in serving the <br />Redwood City community. <br />On June 15, 2020 the City Council interviewed 21 qualified applicants who submitted an application and <br />cover letter for the various BCC vacancies. <br />The applicants for Council consideration are as follows: <br />Applicants for the Housing and Human Concerns Committee for three full-term seats that will expire on <br />May 31, 2024**: <br />• Vanessa Oldenkamp Honey Stasha Powell <br />• Angela Piazza* Greg Kamph <br />• Leonela Carbajal Margaret Becker* <br />• Katie Goetz <br />*incumbent <br />**The Housing and Human Concerns Committee may have up to two members who reside in <br />unincorporated Redwood City, per Minute Order 10-177. Of the current members, only one <br />resides in unincorporated Redwood City.
