I would like to
make sure that our police are sufficiently supported in continuing their excellent
service to our community. I would like to ask you to approve the current budget
proposal.
The best way to have functional and effective policing is by having mutual trust and
respect, where individual police officers feel that they have the direct stake in this
relationship and the outcomes. Being overworked, underfunded and being judged not
by the personal actions, but by the actions of non -related officers erodes trust and
motivation. Given how critical this relationship is to everyone's success and safety we
cannot afford to take unreasonable risks, based on non -related actions by other
individuals.
I hope that the city council is fact driven enough to distinguish between actions of the police
officers in distant police departments and the great job that Redwood City PD is doing in
service to our community.
Thank you for your time,
Eugene Fratkin
36 Woodhill Dr. Redwood City CA
650 248-7688
