C�un�ii <br /> From 'the �i �tl�fl� er <br /> February 25, ZQOS <br /> SUBJECT <br /> Final Accegtance — Redwood City Recycled Water Project — Phase I— Redwood <br /> Shores Custamer Site Retrofits -- Bid Package 1 <br /> RECOMMENDATION <br /> Accept, by motion, Redwood City Recycied Water Project -- Phase I— Redwood Shores <br /> Customer Site Retrofrts — Bid Package 1 Praject; authorize the retease of bonds; and <br /> authorize the release of retention in the amount of $32,916.64 pursuant to the terms of <br /> the contract. <br /> BACKGROUND <br /> On March 12, 2007, the City Councit apprvved #he Contrac# Documenis and authorized <br /> #he award of Con�ract for the Redwaod Ci#y Recycled Wa#er Project — Phase !— <br /> Redwood Shores Customer Site Retrofits — Bid Package 1 Project to Mitchell <br /> Engineering of San Francisco, Califomia. This project {Retrofit Bid Package 1) is the <br /> first re#rofit project of the recycled water projects which extend the delivery of recycled <br /> water to new commercial irrigation and City roadway landscape custorners in Redwood <br /> Shores. The refrofit project cansisted of converting existing irrigation systems, currenfly <br /> supplied by potable water, to accommodate supply by recycled water, <br /> The project was awarded for a base bid of $315,80Q.00. Change orders (seven) <br /> totaiing $13,366.35 (4%) were issued and final project cost is $329,16f.35. Change <br /> orders resutted from quantity adjus#ments, additional work attributable to <br /> incidentallunforeseeable site conditipns, and cost of additional insurance coverage <br /> required by customers to complete construction. <br /> The project has been successfully comple#ed in accordance with the plans and <br /> specifications. <br /> ALTERNATIVES <br /> Council may choose nat to accept the project which would be contrary to priar Council <br /> action. <br /> FtSCAL IMPAGT <br /> Funds have been appropriated for this project from the Water Revenue Bond proceeds. <br /> The City has issued a series of three Water Revenue Bonds to financg Phase 1 of the <br /> Recycled Water Project. AvaiEabfe project funds, less unattributed interest, total <br /> $13,367,362 as of December 31, 2007. <br />
