Approve by motion a new MOU with SEIU Loca! 521 for the period February 1, 2Q08 <br /> through January 31, 2010. <br /> 2, By resolution amend the salary and wage plan for classifications represented by <br /> SEIU Lacal 521. <br /> BACKGROUND <br /> The City and SEiU Local 521 have met and conferred on all matters relating to the terms <br /> and conditions of empioyment, and have reached a tentative agreement on a new MOU <br /> subject to City Councii approval. The foliowing is a summary of the economic items agreed <br /> to in negotiations: <br /> Salary: �irst Year — 4% <br /> Second Year — 4% <br /> ALTERNATIVE <br /> Direct staff to continus negotiations with SEEU Loca{ 521. <br /> FtSCAL IMPACT <br /> The above enhancements to the MOU are within the maximum authority set by the City <br /> Counci(. The tota{ package costs for each year are as follows: first year =�818,300; <br /> second year =$851,d32.
