6.H. - Page 1 of 11 <br />/<�ik <br />Redwood <br />CitylCallifornia <br />Faunded 1867 <br />A,&/ <br />DATE: July 27, 2020 <br />SUBJECT <br />STAFF REPORT <br />To the Honorable Mayor and City Council <br />From the City Manager <br />Water Connection and Service for a new single family home at 717 Hillcrest Way (068-064-300), <br />Unincorporated San Mateo County <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />Adopt a resolution approving a request to the Local Agency Formation Commission (LAFCO) for extension <br />of water services outside jurisdictional boundaries to a proposed single family home at 717 Hillcrest Way <br />(APN 068-064-300), Unincorporated San Mateo County, pursuant to Government Code Section 56133. <br />STRATEGIC PLAN GUIDING PRINCIPLE <br />Public Safety <br />BACKGROUND <br />The subject property at 717 Hillcrest Way (the "Property") is an undeveloped parcel (APN 068-064-300). <br />It is located in unincorporated San Mateo County, within the City's water service area and sphere of <br />influence, but outside the City's jurisdictional boundaries. The owners of the parcel have applied to San <br />Mateo County for approval to construct a new single family home on the Property. As a condition of <br />approval, the County requires the property owner to secure a new water connection and service from the <br />City for the proposed residence. The City owns the water main that currently serves the block and runs at <br />the frontage of the Property. <br />The City must receive LAFCO approval to provide water service to the Property.
