8.A. - Page 11 of 11 <br />BE IT ALSO RESOLVED that the City of Mountain View will lead by example through the <br />equitable treatment of all people by City officials and departments; and <br />BE IT ALSO RESOLVED that the City of Mountain View works proactively to create a welcoming, <br />safe, and inclusive community; promotes equitable protection of constitutional and human <br />rights in the City; acknowledges the history of institutional racism that exists in America; and <br />commits to move forward with efforts that shall include reviewing policing policies, exploring <br />alternative service delivery approaches to meet community needs and achieve better <br />outcomes, and engaging in dialogue with residents to hear their concerns and ideas and <br />continuously earn public trust in law enforcement; and <br />BE IT ALSO RESOLVED that the City of Mountain View invites and encourages the community to <br />work together through peaceful exchange and meaningful dialogue to enact change and move <br />forward to achieve a just, equitable, and inclusive Community for All. <br />3 <br />.1 <br />
