EXHIBIT A SHINNYO-EN FOUNDATION GRANT TO REDWOOD CITY 2020 FOR "The 2020-2021 Shinnyo Community Impact Fellow" Grant Goal(s)*: Goals and Objectives: The Shinnyo Community Impact Fellow will spend 70% of his/her time at RWC 2020 supporting the Redwood City Together welcoming initiative, the family engagement and community mobilization teams, and the Cradle -to -Career Pipeline of Success collaboration. In addition to supporting initiatives at RWC 2020, the Shinnyo Community Impact Fellow will spend about 30% of his/her time (2 days per week) at the Gardner Center at Stanford University. Based upon the Fellow's interest, knowledge, expertise, and skills, he/she will be assigned to at least one active research project and work with a multi -disciplinary staff (e.g., senior researchers, policy analysts). Past Fellows have supported projects in areas such as broad -access colleges, food insecurity, dropout prevention, and full-service community schools. The Fellow's role and responsibilities include: ■ Co -lead, with staff support, the Redwood City Together welcoming initiative, including coordination and facilitation of diverse dialogues with community organizations, youth groups, and other collaborative partners, ■ Provide program support to RWC 2020's Family Engagement initiative, "Socios for Success" ■ Provide program support to the Cradle -to -Career Pipeline of Success initiative, ■ Provide research and administrative support to the Gardner Center research and evaluation projects, ■ Link Gardner Center and Haas Center efforts to build capacity for Stanford service learning opportunities in Redwood City, • Serve as the point of contact and conduit for Shinnyo-en USA Head Temple and Shinnyo- en Foundation. • Attend Shinnyo-en Foundation sponsored Shinnyo Fellows Orientation and Annual Retreat as part of the cohort of 2020-2021 Shinnyo Fellows in early August. Write one initial (by the end of December) and one final prospectuses (before the completion of the Fellowship), following the template provided by Shinnyo-en Foundation. Submit each prospective to his/her supervisor(s) for their review. ■ Share his/her reflection, learning, and experiences with the professional peers and colleagues at the Gardner Center or at the Redwood City 2020 as assigned by his/her respective supervisor(s). *Any changes or adjustments to goals and objectives require prior approval by Shinnyo- en Foundation.
