(7/2019 version) <br />Cooperative Service Agreement Number: 20 -73 -06 -0255 -RA <br />WBS Element: AP.RA.RX06.73.0267 <br />FMMI Shorthand Code: OXWSWR0606REIMBURRX06730267 <br />WORK PLAN <br />In accordance with the Cooperative Service Agreement between THE CITY OF REDWOOD <br />CITY PUBLIC WORKS SERVICES DEPARTMENT and the United States Department of <br />Agriculture (USDA), Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS), Wildlife Services <br />(WS), this Work Plan sets forth the objectives, activities and budget of this project during the period <br />of this agreement. <br />Program Obiective <br />1. The purpose of this agreement is to remove of California Ground Squirrels from the Redwood <br />Shores levee that runs parallel to Redwood Shores Parkway from Holley Street to the treatment <br />plant off Radio Road. Removal efforts are to help alleviate damage to property and burrowing in <br />levees which weakens the integrity of the levee caused by California Ground Squirrels. Efforts <br />will be made by assigned personnel to reduce the population of California Ground Squirrels from <br />the above-mentioned levee in San Mateo County, California. <br />2. USDA -APHIS -WS will attempt to work this project with another project when possible, to <br />make the funds stretch further each year. <br />Plan of Action <br />1. The work will be accomplished using Wildlife Services Specialists (WSS) as assigned to work <br />this project by installing, operating and maintaining traps and possibly using other Wildlife <br />Services approved methods. All work will be in accordance with the terms of the Cooperative <br />Agreement effective upon signing. <br />The performance of wildlife damage management actions by WS under this agreement is <br />contingent upon a determination by WS that such actions are in compliance with the National <br />Environmental Policy Act, Endangered Species Act, and any other applicable environmental <br />statues. WS will not make a final decision to conduct requested wildlife damage management <br />actions until it has made the determination of such compliance. <br />2. There will be occasional periodic compulsory training required for safety and skill <br />enhancements that the USDA -APHIS -WS employee will be required to complete, while <br />charging against this contract. <br />3. USDA -APHIS -WS employees working this project will keep the City apprised of <br />management activities on a monthly basis while work is being conducted. <br />
