We are living <br />in a time where we need to be reassured that our voice and our vote count. I don't think a cost savings of $15-18k <br />can replace the loss of community trust and engagement that an appointment has the potential to cause. I think any <br />candidate would welcome and benefit from knowing the support they had from the community they would <br />represent. I also believe we should provide the community with an opportunity should a write in candidate want to <br />be considered. Optics matter and the right to vote and community engagement are so important, now more then <br />ever. <br />Respectfully, <br />Marcella Padilla <br />
