S.A. - Page 3 of 10 <br />facilitate the November 3, 2020 General Municipal Election and will charge for this service based on the <br />number of voters who participate in the election. By removing the District 4 contest from the November <br />3, 2020 ballot and reducing the number of voters who participate in the election, the San Mateo County <br />Elections office estimates a cost savings between $14,800 and $18,000. <br />ENVIRONMENTAL REVIEW <br />This activity is not a project under California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) as defined in CEQA <br />Guidelines, section 15378, because it has no potential for resulting in either a direct or reasonably <br />foreseeable indirect physical change in the environment. <br />PUBLIC NOTICE <br />The City Clerk published a certificate of these facts in the San Mateo Daily Journal on Sunday, August 9, <br />2020 and posted a copy of the certificate on the Public Notices page of the City website as well as hard <br />copies at three public locations. Public notification was also achieved by posting the agenda, with the <br />agenda items being listed, at least 24 hours prior to the meeting. <br />ALTERNATIVES <br />The Council may choose not to make an appointment.
